Ricky Ross & Deacon Blue Live @ Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 1999-05-27

Deacon Blue Setlist Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, Scotland 1999

Our House - The Braendam Benefit

In May 1999, he rejoined the original line-up of the group, ostensibly for an event benefiting the Braendam Family House at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow which sold out in 90 minutes flat. Renewed interest led to Deacon Blue's touring and recording again”.

Notes from original uploader of the BBC set:
This BBC Radio 2 broadcast was edited/produced by James Prime who plays keyboards with Deacon Blue. This is supposed to be a rip from the finished project after the BBC added their jingles. I've left it fairly untouched with the only edit being a DJ announcement between track 8 & 9 which I removed.

In 1994 Deacon Blue split much to the heartache of their loyal fanbase, and their record label since their Greatest Hits album was at number 1 in the UK charts at the time. After 5 years of fairly low key solo projects Ricky was asked to do a charity gig for the Braendam Link in Glasgow. He had originally planned to play a solo set and asked his fellow Deacon Blue bandmates whether they would be willing to perform 4 or 5 songs. This then led to them deciding to move to a larger venue and play a full gig. The gig sold out in 30 minutes 2 extra dates were swiftly added and 3 UK tours 2 compilation albums and one new studio album followed. Ricky claims this is his favourite gig of his whole career, the day he truly realised what Deacon Blue doing a gig in their hometown Glasgow really means!
